‘Undefeated heavyweight champion
of the world,
‘Anthony Joshua!’This morning we’re here to meet
Sean Murphy –
a close friend and the guy
who started me off boxing in 2008.
We’re in Barnet. But the actual
boxing club’s called Finchley ABC.
I know this place like
the back of my hand.
I used to come running round here. And right now we’ve got
a little surprise for Sean,
so I’m just heading down to
the boxing gym.
The Sean I know,
he don’t show emotion.
He’s a disciplined man,
he’s been boxing from young.
So I think he’s built up
a certain resilience in him.
What’s happening, Sean? You all right, mate?
Fine.
All right? How are you?All right. It takes me ages to get going
in the morning.
I’m not a morning person.You up
every morning early, innit?
From eight o’clock every day.I don’t know what it was about him.He was a very happy-go-lucky
sort of fellow.
Just laughing all the time.I thought he was on crack
or something.
ANTHONY LAUGHS“Josh, shut up! Get on the bag,
stop talking.”
Yeah, I’ve come in here
thinking it’s a social club.
I did my boxing but I’d still have
a laugh with the boys and that.
And this is where I learnt
discipline,
where you have to forget your egoand listen to instructions if you
want to achieve something.
Sam, that’s just come in –
Sam Patrick –
that was Josh’s training partner.
Yeah.
You’ve seen me in my reckless days,
you know. When I was smoking!
HE LAUGHSAnd then boxing really helped me get
on the straight and narrow.
You know deep down
I’m a shit boxer, innit?
THEY BOTH LAUGHDeep down, I’m just shit.HE CONTINUES LAUGHINGI still ain’t got a Scooby-Doo.Just been blagging it
the whole time.
Your mum rang me up once. I don’t
know if I’ve ever told you this,
or she might have told you.Do you remember you was coming
for a little while?
Yeah. And then all of a sudden
you disappeared.
Do you remember what I said to you?I said, “Whatever you’re doing,
it’s not legal.”
I said, “You’ve got to stop it now.“If you want to get serious
and you want to box,
“you’ve got to stop it now and sort
yourself out.”
Stay focused, yeah. This is Klitschko? What, if that’s Klitschko there…?THEY ALL LAUGHI’ve got something for you
in the car as well, Sean.
SEAN GROANSI have to stretch out
in the mornings, big-time.
Look at that.“Finchley ABC, Sean…”
What the fuck, man?
ANTHONY LAUGHSThat’s your motor.Fuck off!I’m serious.Seriously?
Yeah, man.
There’s a contract on it saying
you can’t sell it in six weeks.
THEY ALL LAUGHI remember Josh saying to me a long
time ago, “I’ll look after you.”
But him just winning the world
title is enough for me,
do you know what I mean? Josh?Someone’s going to have to show
me how to fucking start it.
These guys will always have their
doors opens for me, no matter what.
LAUGHTERWhen it’s all said and done,I’ll never forget who’s been
there when no-one was.
Thanks a lot, yeah?

  20. More BBC fake news-Greedy Hearn & AJ got beat by a bum in boxing terms & that's what AJ will ever be remembered for the beating & all the fake news and know alls got it wrong,ha ha ha ha ha.

  21. AJ lost to Ruiz for 2 reasons….1) Ruiz’s skills and 2) being haunted by Wilder’s tremendous victory. AJ’s head wasn’t right because he went for it too early trying to match Wilder’s excitement and got clipped.✌🏾

  22. 😁 I love it! He seems like such a genuinely good hearted person. I can’t wait to be able to do that for people I hold dear to me.

  23. You see why i can't stop loving this guy… No matter where Life takes you….don't forget where you came from…

  24. I gotta admit that's a touching gesture. And I'm definitely not a fan. Incidentally, notice when he jokingly (?) says, I'm a shit boxer: I've been blagging it (or something). Over two years later words like those come back to haunt him.

  25. AJ went up in my estimation when he went out with Bear Grylls and climbed over that ravine on a rope.I sincerely hope that he wins back that world title.

  26. Thanks very much champ Aj,for not forgotten your mentor congratulations πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ πŸ‘πŸ”₯ be blessed πŸ™πŸ™ and more focused fighter
