– Everyone’s really buying in, and everyone’s
working really hard. And, I feel like, this year more so, we’re
really focused on doing the little things right. – Our kids come in. This is what they want. They was to play the best teams. We certainly have one of the top schedules
in the country, and we’re one of the best conferences in the country. So, you know, it’s a little gut-wrenching
week after week after week, but I can tell ya, I wouldn’t want it any different. – So, that makes it exciting. You love to match up the big teams. Notre Dame, Carolina, Duke, you know, some
big east teams now, Marquette has a big contender. So, it’s all very exciting, and I think the
best part about it is that we have a ton of home games this year. – Learn from your good days. See what you’re doing right. And, learn from your bad days, ’cause the
worst thing you can do is just beat yourself up especially when you hold yourself, and
your team holds you high standard, and you don’t reach that sometimes you just gotta,
just sit back and see what you gotta change. – It was real easy to be motivated by the
fact that we fell on our face in the last two games of last year when we were expected
to do great things. – I think everyone is just really antsy to
just put on the uniform, not the fittings, you know, put on a uniform, get out there,
play someone new when it really counts. – It was easy to have the motivation to get
better because we weren’t national champs anymore. – You put in work in the fall, work in the
winter during winter break, and of course, in the month of January we put in a ton of
time and a ton of work and on the field, on the film room and in the weight room, so,
I like to think we’re ready. We’re always, it’s early in the season, so
we’ll be learning a lot still. – I think the scrimmage last weekend was really
good, ’cause it kinda showed us what we need to work on, what we’re doing really well. So, I think we’re just down and out for the
next two weeks. – You know it’s first of six home games at
Peter Barton Stadium, and we’re excited about that, and get our home crowd and get rolling
again. It’s nice to forget about the end of 2016
and start anew.
