HERON HIGHLIGHTS: Lacrosse defeats Bard

I think Bard is — they have a couple of players
that are really tenacious and can be dangerous and I didn’t want us not to play with intensity
today, because player for player, I think in everyone’s mind we knew we were a better
team. But, our goal had to be, and one of them was,
to not just shoot but to score. And we wanted to focus on our scoring ability
today. We wanted to focus on our ride today. We wanted to focus on not giving up 8 meter
shots today. Things that we think will help us be a better
team down the road. So, in a number of those areas our shooting
percentage was better today. We got a lot of caused turnovers on our ride. We did really well on draw control. These are things that in really competitive
games, a ground ball, an extra possession, an extra draw control, they all loom large
in the outcome. So we set some goals for this game so that
we could leave the field today a better team and better prepared to play Cabrini on Tuesday,
RPI on Friday, and Union on Saturday. So we have a tough five game stretch here.
