My name is Chris Hurd, I’m an RFU Community Rugby Coach for North and West Somerset in Area 1. The name of the game was: ‘Pressure Possession’ “So girls we’ve got two teams, aim of the game is play a normal game of touch, if you get touched; player has to put the ball around their waist but then we want another player from the red team in to defend, there we go fantastic.” Purpose of the game was the ‘principles of play’ of go forward and contesting possession. “You are allowed one player offside to potentially do what? Good kick, great stuff, well played. Unlucky, can we finish? Try scored!” Looking to develop the creativity of players and the utilization of different kicks but also the awareness of where the space is to attack. “At some point I may shout ‘box’ that means there’s two balls, one in either 15 metres down that is for you whoever the attacking teams are, to get there, set themselves up and to try a different type of kick.” “Red, box, box!
