Hi, in this video we are going to model a soccer ball. So, let’s get started. Go to create Polygon Primitives Soccer ball If it’s disabled, then enable it. Then again Create Polygon Primitive’s Soccer Ball I don’t want to see the grid. Next, Now If I’m going to go to face and double click on it. I can select the whole object. This means this object is connected, These faces are connected to each other. But I don’t want them to be connected to each other. I want them to be detached from each other. So I will go to vertex and select all of my vertex. Go to “Edit Mesh Menu” and “Detach” Now if I’m going to go to face and double click on it. I can’t select all of my faces since they are detached from each other. They are not attached to each other. Now the 2nd step. Go to “Mesh Menu” and apply a “Smooth Command” on it. With a division of 2. Next Next, go to “Deform Menu” Click Sculpt Press 4 on your keyboard or click here to see that the sculpt is right now inside this area But it’s very very small So I am going to scale it. Click on scale Click on the centre and grow it. Now I will go to sculpt again and grow it until it’s completely smooth Next Step. Select your Mesh (object) and delete all the history This is the history that is right now here Why I am deleting my history The reason is that if I accidentally move my object Its shape can be distorted. Which I don’t want so to fix this issue Select the mesh, go to “Edit Menu” “Delete by Type” “History”. Now all my history is gone and this object is permanent. This shape is permanent till now we have made the geometry for the object. Next I will go to the “Extrude command”. Go to wireframe mode and I’m going to extrude it inside this time. Normally we extrude things outside but this time we have to exclude it inside You can see the double mesh here That’s the bottom part that’s the top layer Bottom layer. Top layer Next I have to increase some of it’s offset. but in negative.
If I’m going to do it in positive you can see this kind of space will come inside it. I’ll do it in the negative, why in negative I will let you know in a while And press delete on the keyboard to delete all the faces inside Next, go to object mode Press 5 on the keyboard. If your mesh is appearing black. It means its faces are flipped. So I need to reverse them. Go to display, “Mesh display Menu” and reverse. Now it’s a perfect geometry. Press 3 on the keyboard to smooth and you can see your soccer ball. Now I will go to extrude face option and we will go to offset What if I didn’t change my offset and it was zero. You can see the gap here If I increase my offset in positive number like 0.5 you can see the gap is increasing because the offset is taking the mesh inside which I don’t want I want the mesh to overlap each other So instead of positive, I will go for negative values Like -0.5 I will say -0.3 -0.2 Yes -0.2 is a good value Next, I will apply materials on this object Blinn Material Next face double click I am selecting all the shapes that have 5 edges 1 2 3 4 5 By shift double-clicking Next, I want to apply another material over here.
