Hello and welcome to the second edition of the Fast Track to Prague magazine. In the past few days we have cut off another piece of the road to Prague with the announced group stage draw that took place in the Old Town Hall. And it was a spectacular event indeed. See for yourselves. All four groups were drawn during a live Czech TV broadcast by celebrities from the world of floorball and beyond such as Tero Tiitu and the IFF Secretary General John Liljelund. Milan Hnilička, the government representative for sports and a former ice-hockey goalie and Jiří Kejval, the Czech Olympic Committee president also helped determine the road to the final for individual teams . By the way, 60,000 people watched the draw on TV and 10,000 more watched it online. Slovakia will play interesting matches against quite unusual opponents in group D. They will face Japan, Singapore, and Canada. Group B turned out to be a Nordic group and will see matches between Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden. Right after the draw you could already hear jokes that all the four teams might travel to Prague together to save some travel costs. Well, we are not here to advise as our attention is focused on group A that includes the Czech Republic, Germany, Latvia, and Switzerland. Wishes of many national team players as well as of the coach Kettunen thus remained unheard. We were hoping for Sweden. Well, there is nothing you can do about it. We have to cope with it. There were some wishes of public, even ours but in the end it doesn’t matter Naturally not many of us wanted Switzerland but the groups were drawn this way and we can’t do much about it. We have got 9 months to get ready and prepare for the play-off opponents. I am really looking forward. I believe the Czechs are the very best organizers as for floorball events. About expectations – I think it will surpass the 2008 tournament This is what I am excited about as a fan. On the other hand, from a floorball perspective I would like to seal the tournament winning a medal. But that’s enough about the draw, because on March 15 tickets will go on sale to the general public. So far, they were only available to the Czech Floorball members. According to The World Championships Secretary General Zuzana Svobodová the fans showed the biggest interest in the opening and final day. Don’t be alarmed though. There is still a plenty of tickets left. On March 15 you can find them on Ticketportal.cz. The championships organizers make no secret of their ambition to make the December tournament the biggest sports event of the year. But above all they announced that the Czechs want to get the attendance record back. At the end of this edition we must not forget to announce the lucky winners who answered the question in our contest correctly. We have received loads of answers from all over the world.
