Our Doctors as Athletes: Dennis Kramer, MD, and Princeton Lacrosse

Sports were always so important in my life I went to Princeton and got to play for a three-time national championship lacrosse team which was just an awesome experience. I’ll never forget my teammates and I’ll never forget the coaches and even physicians and trainers through the years it really was a powerful experience. I was drawn to sports medicine mostly because of my background and really feeling a kinship there so when my patients can’t participate due to pain or injury it affects me and it makes me want to figure out ways to get them better. The frustration of an athlete who is unable to do something that they really love doing and to understand that you can’t tell an athlete they can’t play sports, you have to give them ways that they can.
