>>(REPORTER): Winning championships at any
level not easy, but boy does the RIT men’s lacrosse team make it look pretty effortless.
Since taking over 6 years ago, Jake Coon’s Tigers have captured 6 straight conference
titles. Today they went for lucky number 7 against RPI out of Albany. We go to the second,
Tigers up by 7 and adding to it, Chad Levick going in the opposite direction of the cage
fires back. It’s the Tigers 10th goal of the game. Due to time constraints we move
ahead in the action. End of the 3rd, more from Mr. Levick, get used to the name. What
a finish, it’s 12-2 RIT. To the fourth, you guessed it, more from Levick. Tigers offense
clicking. Levick just padding the highlight reel. That’s his 6th of the day. RIT was
up by 9. But Mr. Levick had more one for that highlight reel. Ryan Lee finds him across
the field. Levick for the love of elevation. That’s his game high 7th goal of the game.
The Tigers capturing the Liberty League, yet again. The result never in question. RIT rolling
15-5 behind Levick’s 7 goals. The Tigers entered the Liberty League 5 years ago and they’ve
been conference champs ever since.>>(CHAD LEVICK): We’ve been working towards
this all year. I think this is the first stepping stone to what we really want to accomplish,
which is of course the national championship. We just really want to showcase that when
we are at our best game we have a chance of beating anyone in the country.>>(JAKE COON): I told at the end of the game
there, towards the end of the game, that championships are not easy to come by and to go celebrate
because they have worked hard for it. The Liberty League is a very tough league. Just
really proud of their effort today. It was a really balanced effort.>>(REPORTER): RIT going to play John Carroll
in the first round on Wednesday.
