Roy Keane on saying that he wouldn’t watch Liverpool “if they were playing in his back garden”

You said in your role as a pundit last week,
one line about not wanting to watch Liverpool, even if they were in your back garden. There’s
been quite a strong reaction to it. Has it been taken more seriously than you meant it?
Listen, that was just a bit of tongue-in-cheek. I think anybody who has ever spoke to me about
football will tell you the huge respect I have for Liverpool. Absolutely. Huge respect
for them. I grew up watching them in the 80s winning leagues every year and I think my
comments were, from my point-of-view, a bit tongue-in-cheek. And hopefully people will
see it that way. But, listen, I’m not here to defend every comment I’ve made over the
last few years or months. But, a bit of tongue-in-cheek. People should lighten up a little bit.

  1. He watched Liverpool win a CL group game 7 nil and then criticised their defence. Just goes to show how thick that idiot is and why nobody takes much notice of what the dick head says!
